Enhance Everyone's Civil Rights, Including Women’s Reproductive Rights, and Public Safety

​Mainers, as it should be for all Americans, have the right to be protected from crime and discrimination of any kind.  As well as the right to make their own reproductive health decisions. As Maine’s senator, David will support efforts to: 

• Codify Roe v Wade and back other actions, including supporting more funding for organizations like Planned Parenthood, to better protect the reproductive rights of women in Maine and the nation.

• Ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) and broaden civil rights protections for all Americans.

• Increase funding for community policing, substance abuse, and mental health services.

• Focus increased investigative and prosecutorial resources on violent offenses.

• Enhance police training and accountability.

• Build on recent common-sense gun safety laws and regulations.
